A Message from the Chairman of the RPA

I want to thank you for being a faithful member of the RPA and to ask you to continue your connection with those who represent all aspects of radiant and hydronics. RPA has been a strong network of manufacturers, designers and architects, suppliers and distributors, builders and contractors and installers dedicated to the professional growth and advancement of everyone in the organization; including each other. These individuals and organizations, who work tirelessly to foster the awareness of radiant and hydronics are the RPA.

RPA is dedicated to the advancement of members; no matter the role or capacity. That’s why new member benefits are being formulated that will be uniquely beneficial to each member category. You can help steer this activity by giving us your insights and telling us your expectations of the RPA by completing and returning the member survey included with this letter.

The most significant differentiation you will notice is now the RPA is at the forefront with IAPMO working to advocate codes and standards that govern the design, installation, methods and materials in the plumbing, mechanical and solar systems in homes and businesses. This activity alone will immeasurably benefit the industry.

We are improving upon existing benefits that have been highly valued by the members. For example, the Radiant Flooring Guide and Radiant Living Magazine are included with this letter. These two highly praised publications are distributed as an important member benefit. Other existing benefits that will continue include training and professional development opportunities. The collection will be expanded upon because the knowledge, skills, and abilities expected of our members are growing at an increasing rate. And, RPA is now an accredited provider of IACET and GBCI in addition to the AIA. Continuing Education Units (CEUs), Learning Units (LUs), and Professional Development Hours (PDHs) can be earned.

The System Showcase, which is the only opportunity we know of where members can share their expertise with peers in the radiant and hydronic industry, will be conducted this year. This is an exceptional way to show off creativity and competence in design and installation. Private, structured judging will be performed via a secure “Members Only” section of the RPA website and winners will be announced at the System Showcase Reception during the Annual Membership Meeting and Conference. Winners will also be recognized in national publications. RPA’s Annual Membership Meeting and Conference will be September 18, 2012 alongside Mechanical Systems Week’s Conference and Show in Schaumburg, Illinois so that members can enjoy all the amenities of a week-long event and expo at a significantly reduced cost.

There is no other place worldwide where you have the opportunity to be in immediate and constant contact with those who share a stake in the future of radiant and hydronics. I ask that you stay with us. Your involvement will ensure that the RPA will reach its full potential and therefore meet your needs.
